Hurricanes Race-A-Thon 2025
Team Social and Fundraiser
Saturday, November 1
After a successful switch to our Race-A-Thon format last year, we will continue the format this season for our yearly fundraiser. The swimmers will challenge themselves by racing multiple longer events during our team event. We will also be making donations through our Hollyburn Accounts as that way all of our proceeds can go towards the team! The event includes our team social with food and treats for the swimmers!
Swim Academy Swimmers – on deck/at social 4:00-7:00pm
Will swim a 100m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke and finish with our team social!
Swim Academy 2 Swimmers – on deck/at social 4:00-7:00pm
Will swim a 200m Freestyle, 200m Individual Medley and finish with our team social!
Monsoon Swimmers – on deck/at social 4:00-7:30pm
Will swim a 400m Freestyle, 200m/400m Individual Medley and finish with our team social!
Pursuit/Typhoon Swimmers – on deck/at social 2:00-8:00pm
Will swim an 800/1500m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle, 400m Individual Medley and finish with our team social!
Hurricanes Fundraiser
We encourage all families to raise funds for their swimmer! Last year we raised over $11,000 to support swimmers from our fundraising account! Swimmers are encouraged to collect from their family and friends, they can total all funds raised to be billed to their account or collect cheques ‘Hollyburn Swim Team’.
Fundraising Goals
Pursuit/Typhoon - $200/swimmer
Monsoon - $150/swimmer
Swim Academy - $75/swimmer
Fundraising Prizes
For every $25.00 raised, each swimmer will have their name put into a draw for team prizes. We will have prizes for the top fundraiser in each group – Swim Academy 1, Swim Academy 2, Monsoon, Typhoon and Pursuit! We will also have team prizes for every swimmer who participates!
Hurricanes Fundraising Account
This will be our one fundraiser for the season. The money from our fundraising account goes towards supporting swimmer travel (national meets, travel meets), subsidizing team events (team socials and learning opportunities), racetek video at swim meets and team equipment. This year our main focus is to buy an Athlee Underwater Camera/Video Playback system that will benefit all of the swimmers on the team.
