Phoenix Spring Break Training Camp 
March 25-April 3 

We had a very successful training camp in Oceanside last season and want to build on that in 2024. The camp is encouraged for all Pursuit and Typhoon swimmers. It is a great opportunity to get a boost in training heading into the long course season. Camps are a very fun experience for the swimmers as the days are filled with activities around their training. Swimmers will start to adapt to the increased training load after the first 4-5 days and really get a lot out of the training after those first few days which is why we will train through April 3. 

Basic Information

Flights - Swimmers will fly from Vancouver to Phoenix on Monday, March 25. Westerns swimmers will fly from Winnipeg to Phoenix on Monday, March 25. 
Return on Wednesday, April 3 after morning practice (we will have an option to return on Monday, April 1 as well). 

Accommodation - We just stayed in a big rental house for our Victoria camp and it makes meals a lot easier and is very fun for the swimmers. Many big rental houses available that can host our team in Phoenix. Need numbers by end of October so that we can book a house ahead of time. 

Training - Pool space booked at the Phoenix Swim Club. Will do doubles most days from Tuesday, March 26 to Wednesday, April 3. 
We will be training with the Chinook Swim Club and may have other teams training with us as well. We will be organizing the accommodation and travel for just our two teams.

$200 - Training Fees

$200 - Insurance, Activities (nhl game, amusement park)

These costs are based on 15 swimmers between Hollyburn and Chinook attending. These are estimated a bit high and will make decisions based on numbers to maximize value.

Registration Deadline – October 31^st
We need to have an early registration deadline of October 31^st so that we can book accommodation ahead of time. This will also help us get a group booking on flights. Estimated costs will be updated once we have numbers finalized. The camp will have an initial payment in November to cover early costs like accommodation and the rest will be billed after the camp.

Swimmers wanting to join the camp after the registration deadline can be added if our accommodation and transportation will allow. Generally this will help lower costs from our estimated budget after the deadline, any additional costs will be the responsibility of swimmers joining late.
